Behrouz Panahi was born in Tehran, Iran. As a child he showed special interests in playing music and singing. He started playing violin, accordion and piano in his teens and right after he graduated from high school, he got accepted to the Tehran University College of Fine Arts, School of Music, one of the most privileged schools in the country. While attending school, Behrouz studied under Heratch Manookian and George Martiroosian, internationally-known as great violinists. While in school, he started performing on Iran National Radio and in the Television Chamber Orchestra and for six years he worked with some of the great international music conductors, performing Western classical and modern music. When he finished college, because of his special talent in music, he was able to earn a government scholarship and come to the U.S. to study music at the Boston Music Conservatory, one of the best known schools for studying music in the United States. On this CD, with his deep knowledge of Persian and Western Classical Music and extended experience performing with well established orchestras and artists, Behrouz has picked what he believes are the most beautiful and soothing melodies of all time. He makes them sound even better with his special magic touch on the violin and gifted talent which brings back good memories of the past. With many thanks to my good friend, a great music arranger and a piano wizard indeed, a graduate of Moscow Music conservatory Armen Aharoonian. Also, many thanks to all my good friends and great composers, Mr. Jahanbakhsh Pazooki, Anooshirvan Rohani, Homayoon Khorram, Mohammad Heydari and many others who with their permission for using their meaningful and beautiful melodies I was able to make this project to happen.
